➡ The 1962 Constitution of Pakistan was promulgated on 8 June 1962 by President Ayub Khan.
➡ It replaced the 1956 Constitution, which had been abrogated after the 1958 martial law.
➡ It introduced a Presidential form of government, replacing the parliamentary system.
➡ The constitution remained in force for 7 years.
➡ It was abrogated on 25 March 1969 when General Agha Muhammad Yahya Khan imposed martial law after the resignation of Ayub Khan.
➡ This marked the end of the Second Republic of Pakistan and suspended democratic governance until the 1973 Constitution was enacted.
